People have millions of followers on Twitter, even if they don’t have things to say that 1M people actually get value out of. These types of people fuel our fake news dilemma. If someone Tweets something false but 500M people see it in 10 minutes, is it still fake? Arguably, no. Startups like Clubhouse and Substack and building social platforms where quality, not quantity, is financially rewarded. Twitter and LinkedIn are following their lead. The people who think they are winning by getting 10M followers on Clubhouse will soon they will find themsleves famous, but broke; the worst combination.
