Customer development is not marketing. Customer development is the process of making sure you have a real solution for a real problem and knowing exactly who has that problem.
There is zero reason for a startup to scale with a product that doesn’t fit a customers need or solve a problem. The product doesn’t need to be perfect but there needs to be a good reason it exists. Product people find that reason.
Startup land is a bit different from the traditional business world.
