Access is who you give your time to and who gives their time to you. When time is more valuable than money, access is the primary asset to be acquired. Access isn’t binary though; It’s more like a tree. Issuing access starts with replying to an email. Maybe the next step is having a phone call with someone. Then a coffee meeting. Then grabbing drinks. Through these levels of access, trust is built. Assuming more trust is built after each interaction, the next level of access is issued. Knowing where you are in someone’s access tree gives you an edge.
