Formal Mentors

If I had a nickel for every time I heard someone talking about their mentor publicly, i’d be rich enough to be perceived as a mentor, which i’ll never be(keep reading). This could be off, but I think when people talk about their mentors a lot, and mention names, they almost use their mentors name to establish brand equity for themselves. I believe in surrounding yourself with amazing people a lot smarter than you and asking for help when you need it. You get the same benefit that you get from a mentor, but you can be friends too :)
